Plant of the Month

Azalea

A blooming bouquet.  Florist azaleas have a reputation for their beauty,  but are very difficult or impossible to re-bloom. These gorgeous plants with ruffled blooms come in shades of pink, white, coral, and red. They need bright indoor light, cool temperatures and the soil must be kept moist at all times. Don’t let these limitations keep you from enjoying this cousin of the outside rhododendron.  With the proper care this plant will bloom for 2-3 weeks.  Consider the plant of the month for flower lovers, elderly and desk tops.  Call today to be a part of this fun club and receive a blooming plant at the start of each month.  507-259-9506

What’s Blooming?

Ranunculus!

I may be pushing it, but part of the fun of being a designer is the change of season and the introduction of new flowers.  Ranunculas or Persian buttercups make their debut the first part of the year.  These botanicals are native to the Eastern Mediterranean region and Southwest Asia. They come in hues of pink, orange, yellow and white.  The best part of these little gems is their price.  Call today to puchase this arrangements with tulip for $20.00. 507-259-9506

Should I send Symapthy Flowers?

One of the most frequently asked questions I get as a floral designer is ” Should I send memorial flowers?”    I would like to tell you that you should always send flowers, but there are times when it is better to send a smaller bouquet to the home at a later date, team up to send flowers or even to give to the families charity. Here are some guidelines to follow:

  • Is the deceased a close friend or relative?
  • Would you like a presense at the service because you cannot attend?
  • Is it appropriate to send a group gift ( cousins, co-workers, friends)?
  • Is the deceased work history represented?

For an honest assessment on when to send a floral memorial gift call 507-259-9506

Memorial Tributes

Deciding what to send for memorial flowers can be very confusing.  This segment will address the concerns of the immediate family.

Tradition throughout history has maintained the importance of honoring the deceased with flowers.  Altho these traditions have evolved over the years with creamation being one of the most recent changes to floral designing. Some things to consider when ordering the flowers for your loved one’s service are:

  • Casket vs. Urn
  • Including all immediate family with designs
  • Colors and favorite flowers
  • Personalizing with items from deceased
  • Religious affiliation

Working closely with your florist can make your loved one’s final tribute one that you can be proud of.  Call for private memorial consultation  in Rochester, MN.~  507-259-9506
